How to get to Leicester

Leicester is situated bang in the middle of England. A map of where, exactly, is here. Below is some useful information on how how to find your way to Leicester.

Airport Directions

There are a number of airports "reachable" from Leicester. Visitors from the European Union will probably find Nottingham East Midlands, Birmingham, or Stansted Airports easiest to fly to, while non-EU visitors will probably fly to Heathrow or Gatwick. Here are some guidelines on how to get from the airports to Leicester by car or by train. Remember if you hire a car that we drive on the left in Britain! For detailed directions and current traffic information, take a look at the AA website. Information on train times can be found here, or by phoning +44 (0)8457 484950. The University is 15 minutes walk from the Railway Station. Some local taxi numbers are listed here, although there are usually plenty of taxis hanging around at the station!
