More information on satellite altimetry is available at this site, though to

Centre for Earth Observations.
The Ionospheric Physics Group uses data from Earth observing satellites
to proivde a global picture of various parameters that are of interest
to atmospheric science.
Prior to the availability of such satellite data,
numerical models were used to provide estimates of such parameters on
a global scale.
Use our on-line model
to produce maps of the ionosphere.
Satellites of interest
Data from these are being analysed.
