How to get to Gilbert Murray Hall

Airport Directions

There are a number of airports "reachable" from Leicester. Delegates from the European Union will probably find Nottingham East Midlands, Birmingham, or Stansted Airports easiest to fly to, while non-EU delegates will probably fly to Heathrow or Gatwick. Here are some guidelines on how to get from the airports to Leicester by car or by train. Remember if you hire a car that we drive on the left in Britain! The Halls of Residence are 3 miles from the Railway Station. If you then take a taxi, ask for the Gilbert Murray Hall of Residence, not the University, which is a separate site. Nottingham East Midlands	Take exit to M1 south Then follow "from M1/M69" directions below	Take shuttle bus to Loughborough Take train to Leicester

Stansted	Follow signs to M11 along A120 Take M11 North At Junction 11 take A14 northwest Take A6 northwest to Leicester Turn right onto New Street (B667) At roundabout take 2nd exit onto Stoughton Road Turn left onto Manor Road Gilbert Murray is on the left	Direct train to Leicester

From M1/M69
At Junction 21 (not 21a) or after roundabout at end of M69, filter left following directions for Leicester Ring Road, A563. Continue to follow signs Outer Ring Road A563, Leicester South for 4.5 miles. At roundabout with A6 go right and filter left at traffic lights into Stoughton Drive South. Take the second right onto Manor Road, and Gilbert Murray Hall is on the right, just after some bollards.

By Car

A6 from Loughborough
Follow A6 through City towards Market Harborough. About 3.5 miles from City Centre the road becomes dual-carriageway, go straight over at roundabout, filter left at traffic lights into Stoughton Drive South. Take the second right onto Manor Road, and Gilbert Murray Hall is on the right, just after some bollards.

A47 from Peterborough
Turn left into Spencefield Lane shortly after 'City of Leicester' sign. This becomes Evington Lane. After golf course on left (green tiles house on right), turn left at traffic lights into Stoughton Drive. Turn left at roundabout and right at mini-roundabout into Stoughton Drive South. After about half a mile take a left onto Manor Road, and Gilbert Murray Hall is on the right, just after some bollards.

A6 from Market Harborough
Follow A6 to roundabout after Oadby. Go right around the roundabout and filter left at traffic lights into Stoughton Drive South. Take the second right onto Manor Road, and Gilbert Murray Hall is on the right, just after some bollards.

A50 from Northampton
Follow A50 to junction with Outer Ring Road. Turn right into A563 to Oadby. At roundabout with A6 take right turn and filter left at traffic lights into Stoughton Drive South. Take the second right onto Manor Road, and Gilbert Murray Hall is on the right, just after some bollards.

By Train
