CUTLASS BEAM-RANGE locations for supporting Geophysical Instrumentation
CUTLASS field of view

The CUTLASS radars' common field of view is roughly bounded by range gates

10 - 50 for Finland

25 - 50 for Iceland

The postscript files depicting the beam range positions can be downloaded for CUTLASS and for each radar individually: Finland and Iceland East.

Ny Alesund (CUTLASS Transponder/ionosonde) 78.9 N, 12.0 E, dip ~82 degrees
Longyearbyen (ESR) 78.2 N, 16.5 E, dip ~82 degrees

Standard CUTLASS scanning mode (21/04/95)

Altitude 0 km 300 km vertical 300 km (field aligned)

Tromso (5,17) (5,18) (5,17)
