The images on these pages document the construction of the Alaska West SuperDARN radar built by the Radio and Space Plasma Physics Group at Leicester for the Communication Research Laboratory (CRL), Japan.

The radar has been completed and has undergone prolonged tetsing in Leicester before being shipped to Alaska via Japan (6/6/2000).

The radar was deployed at King Salmon, Alaska by CRL and started operation in August 2001.

Successive pages illustrate progress during the project.
